Vivitar 24mm f2.8 Lens Minolta MD

Vivitar 24mm f2.8 for Minolta SR/MC/MD mount.

This is a late model Vivitar 24mm (serial 97102451) suitable for use with any Minolta Manual focus camera using the SR mount.  The lens features the later MD mount coupling tab making it suitable for late generation Minolta camera which used the MD tab for program mode.

The serial number indicates this was most probably made by Cosina.

The lens is in near mint condition with a very smooth focus, snappy reactive aperture and perfect optics.

A fraction of the price of a Minolta 24mm this lens performs very well in use – will be supplied with lens caps and a good condition UV filter.

Vivitar lenses were manufactured by a range of manufacturers.  The prefix of 9 in this ones serial number indicates Cosina were the manufacturer.  Cosina made a great many lenses for cameras and were often the sub contractor for Nikon and Olympus.

No restoration carried out other than external cleaning.  the lens is fully operable and works well.

Please be aware that the cameras and lenses for sale can be up to 50 years old.  They have been serviced and/or checked and are always as good as they can be made, but please don’t expect them to be flawless as if they were made yesterday.

All lenses of this age exhibit some small particles of dust and coatings are not up to modern standards. Cameras will exhibit some wear signs and likewise may have small dust specks in their viewfinders or focus screens.  These do not affect the picture in any way.
