Minolta 35-70mm Zoom Lens  – Perfect example of the 3^rd and final generation Minolta 35-70 f3.5 Lens with macro Mode.

Rated highly for its excellent performance this one is very close to mint and was serviced around 5 years ago.

This lens, although highly rated by photographers (it was co-designed with Leica) does suffer from haze very easily caused by degrading lubricants in the focusing and zoom helicoils. This one had a complete strip and rebuild by a professional lens technician. Many of these being sold cheap will show haze issues. This one is perfect.

The lens is absolutely flawless both optically and mechanically.
Complete with its original end caps and lens hood and a UV filter to protect its large front lens from any bumps.

This is one of our own lenses which we no longer have a use for.

The Minolta MD 35-70mm F3.5 Macro lens was released in 1984 (come sources state 1983), and was developed by Minolta in close collaboration with Leica. The lens doesn’t have any visible indications or markings that Leica was involved, but Leica were responsible for some of its design and production.

The lens is highly rated by photographers for its performance but very few online lens reviews mention that, like most other MD series lenses, that the lens is prone to hazing from oil vapour.

There were two previous version of this lens – the third is easily distinguishable by its Macro Mode and is considered to be the best zoom ever manufactured by Minolta.

Lens was fully serviced to remove haze caused by oil vapour – very common in this model of lens – by a professional lens technician around 5 years ago.

All lenses of this age exhibit some small particles of dust and coatings are not up to modern standards. Cameras will exhibit some wear signs and likewise may have small dust specks in their viewfinders or focus screens.  These do not affect the picture in any way.

We are enthusiastic film fans and spend our time hunting cameras and lenses that have been or are being unloved.
