This simple adapter allows the use of inexpensive hearing aid batteries to be used in almost any camera that requires the use of the obsolete PX625 mercury cell.
This includes the following cameras:-
- Canon F1
- Canon EF
- Canon FT
- Canon FTb
- Minolta SR Series
- Minolta SRT Series
- Nikkormat FT
- Pentax Spotmatic F
- Nikon F / FT / FTn
- Olympus OM-1
- Gossen Luna Pro
This handy adaptor is made from stainless steel and will not corrode like the cheaper brass versions often found online and is supplied with 6 x 675 zinc air hearing aid batteries.
675 hearing aid batteries are an excellent substitute battery type for Mercury types used between the 1960s and 1980s on many cameras as they retain an almost identical discharge profile . Zinc Air batteries rely on air to be activated and will discharge as soon as the safety tape is removed but will only last around 3 months. They are however cheap and typically sold in multi packs. The price per battery is often less than £1
