Tamron 200mm f3.5 Lens

Near mint condition Tamron Adaptall 200mm f3.5 lens with Adaptall mount for Olympus OM (we may be able to supply an alternate mount type for this lens if you contact us). The lens model is Tamron CT-200 and was manufactured around 1976.

The lens is in near mint condition with just some small wear marks showing on the lens barrel but with spotless optics and beautiful deep coatings. Focus is smooth and suitably firm with a fast reacting aperture.

This model of lens has a built in extendable lens hood and the lens will be supplied with its original Tamron lens caps.

About
The Tamron Adaptalls were very common in the 1970s. They allowed a lens to change mount types by the use of simple adaptor. The Tamron CT-200 135mm f3.5. lens launched in 1976 and finished production around 1979 when the later Adaptall 2 version arrived.

Many of the Tamron lenses were superior to the main brands and they very much majored on quality. This is evident now from the longevity these lenses have shown. They almost never need relubrication where lenses from more major players quite often have lubrication and haze issues.

Restoration

None – lens was acquired in mint condition for our own collection. As we are now slimming down our collection this lens is now being offered for sale.

Please be aware that the cameras and lenses for sale can be up to 50 years old.  They have been serviced and/or checked and are always as good as they can be made, but please don’t expect them to be flawless as if they were made yesterday.

All lenses of this age exhibit some small particles of dust and coatings are not up to modern standards. Cameras will exhibit some wear signs and likewise may have small dust specks in their viewfinders or focus screens.  These do not affect the picture in any way.

ANY problems or issues will be described in the main text which you are advised to read carefully.If you are unfamiliar with film cameras we suggest you do some online research and read the manuals which are freely available from online resources.

We are enthusiastic film fans and spend our time hunting cameras and lenses that have been or are being unloved. All items are packed safely for transit using proper packing material NOT something the cat was sick in. Having been stung both on eBay and by dealers alike who often know very little about film cameras we decided to offer people a chance to experience film using a camera that will last for many years and which we can say for sure works reliably
