Description

Minolta SRT-101 Service Guide – A complete CLA and Tutorial guide for the classic Minolta SRT 101.

The guide has step by step instructions for servicing the Minolta SRT-101 and most other SRT Series cameras and covers both cleaning, old foam removal and servicing of the shutter complete with authors notes explaining some of the operations and tips and tricks for repair. Containing 279 pages with hundreds of photographs to guide you including high resolution reference pictures and detailed descriptions covering all of the work required to service and CLA the SRT family of cameras.

You will require good quality JIS screwdrivers, a lower powered (18W) soldering iron, small tools for fine work like tweezers and pliers and ideally a calibrated light source and shutter tester capable of measuring curtain travel times to tune the camera. A full list of tools and materials required is covered in the guide.

The Minolta SRT-101 is not overly complex to work on and is a perfect camera to start learning camera repair with.

The guide contains details on variants like the SRT-303 and 303b models but you are advised to acquire the factory technical manuals to complement this guide for more technical information. The factory service guides are available at learncamerarepair.com
This latest version of the guide includes technical data on meter cells for evaluation of meter performance plus additional works not covered in the previous version.

Every effort has been made to make this Minolta SRT101 service guide simple and straightforward for the relative novice to camera repair and that includes using simplified terms for some items. However, vintage cameras can be very challenging at times and you will often have to rely on your own ability to debug any issues that may arise.

The guide has consumed around 300 hours of time to create and the charge for the guide is solely to cover bandwidth costs for the website. An earlier version of the guide at lower cost is available at learncamerarepair.com

Must have for anyone with this type of camera.

If you own a Minolta SRT, just buy this ebook. It will allow you to appreciate how well your camera was made, what goes on inside it when you press that shutter, and why it’s worth investing in a proper CLA to get ALL those bits of gunky black foam replaced.
More importantly, this very well made step-by-step and superbly illustrated how-to guide to the CLA process will allow you to understand exactly what is involved with disassembling your camera and what one needs to know (BEFORE you start) in order to successfully clean and reassemble your camera.
It’s an invaluable aid to help you decide if you are capable of taking upon a CLA yourself or are better off confiding the work to an experienced technician (HINT: unless you have proper tools and are really good at keeping track of little screws and such, you likely will conclude that a tech is a much better idea after all – and you will know precisely why).
Great piece of work – highly recommended!
