Description

Minolta XG-M Service Guide : – A complete CLA and Tutorial guide for the Minolta XG-M camera.

The guide has step by step instructions for servicing the Minolta XG-M and covers both cleaning, old foam removal and servicing of the shutter complete with detailed authors notes explaining some of the operations and tips and tricks for repair. Containing 130 pages with hundreds of photographs including high resolution reference pictures and detailed descriptions covering all of the work required to service and CLA the Minolta XG-M.

You will require good quality JIS screwdrivers, and some tools for fine work plus a lower powered (18W) soldering iron and ideally a calibrated light source and shutter tester capable of measuring curtain travel times to tune the camera. A full list of tools and materials required is covered in the guide.

Every effort has been made to make this guide simple and straightforward for the relative novice to camera repair and that includes using simplified terms for some items. However, vintage cameras can be very challenging at times and you will often have to rely on your own ability to debug any issues that may arise.

The guide has taken around 50 hours of time to create and the charge for the guide is solely to cover bandwidth costs for the website.
